Mannar fisherman in SLN custody

Mr.Antony Thomas, 33, who left Pallimunai in Mannar district on 14 March is reported to have been arrested by the Sri Lanka Navy (SLN) while fishing in Palaithivu sea and being detained by the SLN sailors, according to a complaint lodged with Mannar Citizen Committee.

Ms Lakshmi,35, of Kattaspathiri in Mannar district Friday in the complaint said she has learnt that her husband has been kept in the custody of the SLN since the day of his arrest.

She wanted the Mannar Citizen Committee to take steps to get her husband released from the SLN custody.

She also represented to the Human Rights Commission office in Mannar.
