Bus conductor shot dead in Jaffna

A conductor of a private bus was shot dead at Power House road in Jaffna town, about 100 metres from Sri Lanka Army's 51-2 Brigade HQ, around 11.45 a.m., Sunday. The troops have cordoned off the area and are conducting a search, police sources in Jaffna said.

The dead man was identified as M.Prakash, 25, of Columbuthurai.

Prakash's bus plied between Muhamalai and Jaffna town.
