Preschool teacher training held in Kilinochchi

The last day of a three-day training program for more than 50 pre-school teachers held at the non Governmental Organization (NGOS) builiding in Kilinochchi was completed Saturday. The concluding event was held at 3:30 p.m., sources in Kilinochchi said. The Tamils Rehabilitation Organization (TRO) and PreSchool Educational Development ConsortiumPSEDC) in Kilinochchi jointly organized the training program.

Kilinochchi district PSEDC Co-ordinator, Ms.S.Rajani presided the afternoon event.

The training included educational instruction methods for pre-school children and a selection of extra-curricular activities suitable for pre-school aged children. Trainees in the program had no previous pre-school teaching experience, according to training officials.

Kilinochchi district World Vision Planning Director, Mr Premkumar, Akkarayan region Preschool co-ordinator, Mrs.T.Santhakumari, Retired Kilinochchi district Assistant Director of PreSchool Education spoke at the event.

Certificates were awared to the teachers completing the training course.

The event concluded with cultural performances by the trainee teachers.
