Police instructed to provide security to Muttur displaced

Muttur Magistrate Mr.Manickavasagar Ganesharajah instructed the police to provide adequate security to displaced families sheltered in churches and common hall in the government controlled Muttur town . Mr.Ganesharajah last Monday evening visited the St.Antony Church, Methodist Church and Ashraff Hall where about three hundred displaced families sought refuge following spate of violence, civil sources said.
Muttur Magistrate instructed the police to provide assistance to refugees who are willing to leave Muttur by the ferry service to other areas. About two hundred displaced families from Muttur central, Thaha Nagar, and Palai Nagar are sheltered in Muttur St.Antony Church. About 110 families from Alim Nagar, Palai Nagar, Muttur and Nadutivu are staying in Muttur Methodist Church. About twenty-five families who were displaced from Vaddam, Palai Nagar, Thakwa Nagar, Neithal Nagar, Naduthivu and Habeeb Nagar due to aerial strike in the month of April have been staying in Ashraff Hall, sources said. Magistrate inquired from the displaced of their urgent needs and the security they needed.
