Magistrate orders for police report on Tamil civilian killing[TamilNet, Wednesday, 24 May 2006, 18:37 GMT]Muttur Magistrate Mr.Manickavasagar Ganesharajah Wednesday ordered the Muttur Police to submit a full report on the killing of Mr.T.Chandran of Pallikudiruppu. The Magistrate further directed the police to record statements of persons in the army sentry located along Pallikudiruppu-Thoppur road as the body of the dead civilian was found in front of the army sentry, legal sources said. Magistrate Mr.Ganesharajah Wednesday afternoon inspected the scene of murder accompanied by the Muttur Police on the latter's report that Mr.T.Chandran was shot dead on Tuesday night around 7.45 p.m., legal sources said. The Magistrate ordered the police to remove the body of the dead to Muttur District Hospital for postmortem examination. The Magistrate further directed that the body of the dead should be transported to Pallikudiruppu with the escort of the International Committee of Red Cross (ICRC) and hand over to the relatives in Pallikudiruppu, legal sources said.
