Liberation Tigers Media Coordinator, Daya Master, on Tuesday, charged that the forces seeking to discredit Tigers, were behind the massacre of the Sinhalese workers who were settled in Omadiyamadu for Irrigation project work. The forces seeking to marginalise the Tigers, after the EU ban, have "designed and executed" the killings in the border village of Omadiyamadu, which was once used by the paramilitary Karuna Group, Daya master said.
The timing of the massacre, has been planned after the formal, politically motivated, proscription of the Tigers, the LTTE media coordinator added. 13 Sinhalese workers were shot to death at Rantharadenna village in Omadiyamadu, Monday night. The attackers set fire to the victims' belongings and the equipment, used in the Irrigation project, Police said. Rantharadenna is a Sinhala settlement village in Omadiyamadu, around 10 km north of Welikanda in Polonnaruwa - Batticaloa border.
