Tamil businessman shot dead in Negombo

Two unidentified gunmen riding motor bikes shot and killed Sivarathnam Sasikumar, a businessman, Wednesday at 10:15 p.m. in Negombo. Sasikumar was going home with a friend when he was shot in the head and chest police said.

According to civilian sources the killers are believed to be paramilitary cadres.

The business man, a father of one child, was born in Jaffna and had been resident in Negombo for many years.

The body has been taken to Ragama Hospital for postmortem examinations. The Negombo police are investigating the killing.

Negombo is located 30 kilometers north of Colombo.
