LTTE hands over fishermen drifted to Muttur east to SLMM

Two fishermen Mr.Thusitha Satturange, a Sinhalese and Mr.Augustine Chandran, a Tamil, who drifted to the shore of the LTTE held Muttur east coast four days ago while fishing in Trincomalee sea, were handed over
to the monitors of the Sri Lanka Monitoring Mission (SLMM) Monday by Mr.Sivakumar, head of the Trincomalee District Civil Volunteer Force, LTTE sources said.

The fishermen are from Dyke Street and Manayaveli in Trincomalee town. The LTTE cadres rescued the exhausted these fishermen when they were found struggling to walk along the sea shore. LTTE cadres attended to their immediate medical needs, sources said. The handing over took place in the office of the LTTE political secretariat in Sampoor in the Muttur east, LTTE sources said. SLMM monitors took the fishermen to their relatives in Trincomalee town. Meanwhile, SLMM monitors also inspected the damages caused to civilian properties in the Muttur east due to artillery fire from Sri Lanka Army (SLA) that took place Sunday, LTTE sources said.
