Indian Women Press Corps meet SL President

Members of the Indian Women Press Corps led by Editor at Indian Express, Ms Coomi Kapoor, met with Sri Lanka's President, Mahinda Rajapakse, at Temple Trees Wednesday, political sources in Colombo said. The goodwill visit was arranged by the office of the President according to informed sources.



Indian journalists from Indian Express, Times of India, Hindu daily, Hindustan Times, Aaj Tak TV, and BBC Hindi Service based in New Delhi attended the meeting.

With India attempting to increase its visibility in guiding the peace efforts in Sri Lanka, and pro-Tamil politicians in Tamil Nadu asserting their voices, the meeting of the Indian Press corps gains added significance.
