SLA artillery fire damages civilian houses in Kaddaiparichchan

At least four civilian houses were damaged and hundreds of people fled for safety when the Sri Lanka Army (SLA) fired artillery shells from Kaddaiparichchan army camp towards villages in the Liberation Tigers held Muttur east around midnight Monday till the early morning of Tuesday. Kaddaiparichchan army camp is located on the border of the territory held by LTTE, sources said.
The damaged houses are located at Amman Nagar in Ward No: 2 of Kaddaiparichchan village, civil sources said SLA started firing shells and mortars indiscriminately towards the villages in the Muttur east following the claymore explosion that took at Serunuwara along Allai-Kantalai Monday night around 10.45 p.m.targeting a bus load of SLA soldiers returning from Mavilaru operation. In that blast nineteen soldiers died and several others were injured, sources said.
