Soaring fuel prices to impact Sri Lanka's economy

Second fuel price hike within two months has been effected from midnight Tuesday by the Government owned Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC). Price of diesel and petrol has been increased by three rupees and kerosene by two rupees per litre, CPC sources said.

The new prices of diesel will be Rs:66, petrol Rs:96 and kerosene Rs: 46 per litre.

The price of fuel was increased last time on June 10th by the CPC, sources said.

With the price increase of diesel and petrol, public transport fares are also expected to be increased, sources said.
