SL Navy arrests more fleeing Tamil civilians

Another batch of 20 Talaimannar civilians while fleeing to South India to seek refuge was taken into custody by the Sri Lanka Navy (SLN) on Monday morning. Two boatmen who are residents of Talaimannar were also taken into custody. Later they were handed over to Talaimannar Police for further inquiry.
Of the twenty civilians 11 are men, 05 women and four children, all are from Talaimannar. They are to be produced in Mannar magistrate's court Tuesday. Meanwhile, Mannar Additional Magistrate Mr.T.J.Pirapaharan Monday imposed a fine of one hundred rupees each on six boatmen who were arrested on Saturday by Sri Lanka Navy (SLN) when they were taking Tamil civilians to South India by Mannar Sea, legal sources said.
