"When the people of the country are affected, those holding responsible positions, instead of exploiting the situation for their own political benefits, should step out to expose the truth irrespective of the ethnicity or religion of those affected", said the TNA parliamentarian in his statement to the press released on behalf of the TNA. "The horrible act of violence has been perpetrated by the forces who wish to create confrontation between Tamil and Muslim communities. However, the Muslim civilians in the area have realized the state of affairs and demand that the government must accept full responsibility for this massacre," he said. The Muslim political leaders should take concrete steps to improve and strengthen the bonds between the Muslims and the Tamils, the TNA MP added in his statement.
