JVP to protest, calls for ouster of Norway

Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP), marxist coalition partner of ruling alliance, is to hold a protest rally Wednesday 4:00 p.m. calling for the ouster of Norway from Sri Lanka's peace process, and demanding the Government of Sri Lanka to withdraw from the Cease Fire Agreement (CFA), political sources from Colombo said.
All 39 parliamentarians of the JVP and the Leader of JVP, Somawanse Amerasinghe are expeced to participate in the rally, according to party sources. Twelve major Trade Unions, and University Students Consortium are jointly sponsoring the protest rally, sources added. The rally is scheduled to begin from Campbell park in Borella and will reach Liptons Circle, where a public meeting is expected to be held, sources said. Supporters from other parts of Sri Lanka will assemble at Campell park, proceed to Borella junction via Baseline Road, and continue towards Colombo Municipal council through Ward Place and will reach Liptons Circle, according to rally organizers.
