Sri Lanka Cabinet to review relationship with LTTE

The Sri Lanka Cabinet meeting scheduled to be held on Wednesday will make crucial decisions regarding the relationship with the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE), the State run Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation (SLBC) reported Monday in the afternoon news bulletin quoting Mr.Keheliya Rambukwella, defense ministry spokesman and minister in the United Peoples Freedom Alliance (UPFA) government.

The Cabinet will focus its attention on the recent activities of the LTTE, SLBC news bulletin added quoting Mr.Rambukwella.

Meanwhile, the Daily Mirror, an English daily published from Colombo in its Monday issue reported that the Cabinet was divided on the question of re-imposing ban on the LTTE.

Ministers Jeyaraj Fernandopulle, Mangala Samaraweera, and Nimal Sripala de Silva and some others are reported to have advised against such move, sources said.
