Six more Tamil youths arrested in Dankotuwa

Six Tamil youths were arrested in Dankotuwa, 40 km northeast of Colombo, in the northwestern province, in a cordon and search operation by the Sri Lankan forces Wednesday night. They are being detained in police station in the area and are being questioned.

All the youths are employed in a bakery in Dankotuwa and natives of upcountry and eastern province. Police said they were taken into custody as they failed to prove their identity and the reason for staying in the area.

Meanwhile 31 Tamil civilians detained in Boosa Detention Camp located in Galle district in the southern province were released Wednesday on the orders of the Colombo Magistrate. Government security forces in search operation conducted in Kotahena, Wattala and Fort in Colombo city recently arrested them. Till now 90 Tamil civilians detained in Boosa detention camp had been released.
