Two youths shot dead in Vavuniya

Bodies of two youths with gunshot wounds to the heads were recovered by Vavuniya police in Karupanjankulam in Maharambaikulam area in Vavuniya Sunday morning on information given by local residents. Police said the youths were shot dead Saturday night and left at the crime scene.

The bodies were identified as belonging to Maduraiveeran Mahendran, 24, and Premajeevan Ranjan, 23, sources said.

Motives for the killing are not known.

Police transferred the bodies to Vavuniya Teaching Hospital for postmortem examinations.
