Launch all-out war on LTTE, PNM tells Rajapakse

The National Patriotic Movement (NPM) urged the President Mahinda Rajapakse to conduct an all-out war against the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE), sources in Colombo said. before it l "We should attack before the LTTE launches an air strike on Temple Trees residence in Colombo. No country has condemned the air strike by LTTE on country's main military air base in Katunayake," said NPM leader Venerable Dambara Amila Thera addressing a press briefing held Thursday in Sri Lanka Foundation Institute hall.

UN Secretary General Ban-Ki-Moon had also made a statement after air strike on Katunayake airbase asking the government and LTTE to resume peace talks immediately. This shows that the international community is also supportive of the LTTE, said Venerable Dambara Amila Thera.

The NPM urges the President not to yield to the pressure exerted by the international community, and to terminate Norwegian facilitatory role in the peace process immediately, Thera further said.

The international community is only supportive to Ranil Wickremasinghe, leader of the main opposition United National Party (UNP) because he has been taking forward the agenda drawn by the foreign forces, Thera said.

Dr. Gunadasa Amarasekara said the carelessness of the armed forces had helped the LTTE to launch an air strike on Katunayake air base.
