Tamil youth shot dead in Moothoor

Unidentified armed persons shot dead a Tamil civilian in Pattithidal in Moothoor south division in Trincomalee district Saturday night around 10 p.m. A group of armed men had dragged the victim out of his house and fired at him, sources said.

The victim has been identified as S.Sithiravel, 25, a paddy farmer in the area, sources said.

A team of Moothoor Police rushed to the village Sunday morning and removed the body to the Moothoor government hospital for post-mortem examination and identification, sources said.
