Family man shot dead in Naavaanthu'rai, Jaffna

Unidentified gunmen riding a motorbike shot and killed a middle aged family man Sunday morning at 6:45 a.m. in Naavaanthu'rai within Jaffna Municipal council area, sources in Jaffna said.

The victim was identified as Pedurupillai Jesuthasan, 40, a business man.

The armed men called out for the victim to come out of the houes and shot him when he responded.

The killers then fled from the scene.

Jesuthasan was seriously injured ande was taken to Jaffna Teaching hospital. He succumbed to his injuries at 8:00a.m, hospital sources said.

The body is being kept at the hospital for post mortem examinations.
