Civilian shot dead in Koandaavil

A 34-year-old old family man was shot dead in Koandaavil North, Jaffna Wednesday night at his home by unknown gunmen, sources in Jaffna said. The gunmen called the victim to come out the house and shot him at point blank range in front of his family members, relatives of the victim said.

The victim was identified as Sokalingam Nagenthiram, 34, of Thillaiyampathy, Koandavil.

His body has been transferred to the Jaffna Teaching Hospital for postmortem examinations.
