University students appeal to President

Jaffna University Student's Union put forward three demands in an appeal sent today to the Sri Lankan President, Chandrika Kumaratunge.
The appeal said that; three university students have been reported 'missing' recently and urged the President to take the necessary actions and inform their parents and fellow students of their fate, to take constructive measures regarding the 'Chemmani issue', and to make necessary transport arrangements for students from other districts studying at the Jaffna University to travel to the campus. Meanwhile two people were arrested by the SLA in Kondavil north on Sunday November 23. They are: Krishnapillai Ratneswaran, 21, a building worker and Nahuleswaran Subaskaran, 22, a Municipal Council employee.
