Swiss Tamils pay tribute to Thamilchelvan

Hundreds of diaspora Tamils took part in an event to pay homage to Brigadier S. P. Thamilchelvan, the slain Political Head and Chief Negotiator of Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE), in Zurich in Switzerland Sunday around 2:30 p.m, organized by the Switzerland Art and Cultural Society of the Tamils in Switzerland.
The participants placed flowers as a mark of respect and reverence in front of the photographs of Thamilchelvan and the five LTTE members slain Friday in an aerial bombing by the Sri Lanka Government. The president of the Art and Cultural Society, Albert, began the event began with the lighting of the memorial flame. Albert presented the programme of the event in which a video film was shown. (Tamil Coordinating Comitee) TCC Head branch in Switzerland, Kulam, read the condolence message of the LTTE leader Velupillai Pirapaharan, which said that the Sinhala nation has taken the life of a political leader deeply loved by the Tamil speaking world.
