SLA shelling kills four

(Corrected) Four civilians, including a 3 year old child, were killed at 12th mile post, Visuvamadu area in Kilinochchi district, when the Sri Lankan Army fired mortars from the Elephant Pass base around 3.15 p.m. yesterday said the Voice of Tigers (VoT) radio this morning. Earlier reports said they were killed in an airstrike.
Jeyasingaratnam Vinoja (03), M.Pragash (12) of Visvamadu east, Loganathan Ahileswaran (10) a displaced refugee of Kokuvil, Krishna Thangaratnam (32) another displaced person were killed said the radio. Krishna Gunaratnam (38) brother of Krishna Thangaratnam was seriously wounded and his condition is said to be critical. Others among the injured are: A.Saanthakumar (16) Sithamparanaathan Sivaanantham K.Mahes (38) Sithamparam Manimaalai (52) Sithamparam Sivarnajani (17) A.Sevanammah (53) and Raasammah (40) (Ed: one name) Small shops and a number of houses in the area were badly damaged in the attack by Sri Lankan Air Force aircraft, according to the radio. More than 10 civilians including children have been killed in air strikes and SLA's artillery fire from Elephantpass base since 20 November the radio added.
