AG to submit report on security to Mano Ganeshan

When the Writ Application filed by Mano Ganeshan, leader of the Western Peoples Alliance and President of the Civil Monitoring Group on missing persons, came up for inquiry Thursday
before two member bench of the Court of Appeal, the Court directed the Attorney General to submit a report on the enhanced security to Mr Ganeshan and fixed the inquiry for January 30.
Justices K.Sripavan and Ms Rohini Perera heard the appellate brief. The State Counsel appearing on behalf of the Attorney General submitted to court that the defense ministry has been working on a proposal to provide enhanced security to Mr.Mano Ganeshan. Mr.Mano Ganeshan in his Writ Application submitted to court said his security was reduced to two security officers from 10 and with a back-up vehicle and motor bicycle with effect from December 18. He requested the court to increase his security. He has cited the IGP, Defense Secretary and other two police officials as respondents, legal sources said.
