Search operation in Paalaavi, Puththa'lam

The Sri Lanka security forces Friday began a cordon and search operation at Paalaavi village in Puththa'lam district following the discovery of several suicide jackets found washed ashore the coastal area. All huts and houses in the village were checked and residents interrogated. But no arrests were made.

Puththa'lam police on receipt of information first recovered one suicide jacket along the shore of Paalavi. But later they recovered additional suicide jackets in the area, police said.
