SLA soldier shoots dead fellow soldier in Northern Front

A Sri Lanka Army (SLA) soldier, who allegedly shot and killed a fellow soldier Sunday in Naakarkoayil Forward Defence Line (FDL) area, has been kept in remand custody at Kodikaamam Police.

The victim was identified as S. P. Sutharsan, 25, a resident of Church Road in Dodangoda in the South. He was taken to Palaali SLA base and handed over to Sri Lanka Air force (SLAF) to be flown to his home town.

Chaavakachcheari magistrate visited the place where the killing took place and conducted preliminary inquiries.

The SLA soldier who shot and killed Sutharsan was produced in Chaavakachcheari courts Tuesday where the magistrate ordered him to be placed in remand prison.
