Batticaloa Assistant commissioner of local government arrested

Officials from Terrorism Prevention Unit (TPI) of Criminial Investigations department (CID) arrested V.Sathyananthy, the Assistant Commissioner of local government for Batticaloa district, Friday morning, sources in Batticaloa said.

Mr.Sathyananthi has been taken to Colombo for investigation regarding an allegation that he had developed links with Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE), sources said.
