Abandoned parcel causes panic in Fort station

A fake parcel found abandoned at the Fort railway station Saturday morning caused panic among the passengers and employees. All were asked to vacate the area. All incoming trains were directed to stop away from the station till clearance was given by security forces.
The bomb disposal squad of the Sri Lanka Army rushed to the site and took the parcel away. Discarded clothes were found in the parcel. Meanwhile, panic situation prevailed in Colombo city Thursday night when workers on a high rise building reported that they had spotted a flying object hovering in the sky suspecting that it could be an LTTE aircraft. The security establishment identified it as an Air Force helicopter and the situation returned to normal, according to reports from Colombo.
