Youth shot dead in Nelukulam identified

A youth shot dead at Nelukulam in Vavuniyaa on Monday has been identified as S.Mohamed Ali, 24, of Matheena Nagar in Maha Irrambaikullam. His hands were tied and blindfolded with gunshot injuries on his head when his body was recovered Tuesday morning by the police near Nelukulam Kalaimagal Vidiyalayam, reports from Vavuniyaa said.

The victim's relatives in a complaint to the police stated that the Ali left home to his relative's home in Katpakapuram on Monday and failed to return thereafter.

The body was handed over to his relatives after postmortem examination and inquest in the Vavuniyaa general hospital, sources said.
