Tamil woman shot dead in Chelvanakar

Fifty year-old Tamil woman was shot dead by unidentified armed persons on Wednesday night in Chelvanakar in Vavuniyaa. She has been identified as Ms. Mary Baskaran. Her husband was shot dead four weeks earlier by unidentified persons, civil sources said.

The victim's body was taken to the Vavuniyaa hospital for postmortem and inquest, police sources said.
