Jaffna youth abducted in Colombo

Unidentified armed men in a white van arriving at a private lodge in Colombo Wednesday night called by name a youth from Jaffna staying there and forcibly abducted him, according to the complaint made by his mother with the Human Rights Commission (HRC) Jaffna office, Thursday. The number of persons from Jaffna peninsula being abducted in Colombo has escalated recently, HRC Jaffna office sources said.

The youth reported abducted is Nadarajamoorthy Ketheeswaran, 28, a resident of Pa’n’naakam, Chuzhipuram in Valikaamam.

Ketheeswaran had gone to Colombo in order to travel abroad and been staying at the lodge from where he was abducted, his mother said in her complaint to HRC Jaffna.
