Tamil bank employee arrested in Kandy

A Tamil employee attached to the Kandy branch of a state bank is being detained in the Kandy police station for allegedly video taping the house of Minister Keheliya Rambukwella located in Kandy, sources said. He was arrested under the Prevention of Terrorism Act (PTA), since his arrest on Tuesday last week human rights sources in Colombo said.
Kandy police sources said that a police party on receipt of information that an unidentified man had been video taping the house of Keheliya Rambukwella with a sophisticated digital camera had rushed to the site and arrested the suspect. He had videoed the entire house of Mr. Keheliya Rambukwella who is also a government spokesman on military matters on examination of the video film, police sources added. The youth had been employed in the in the computer unit of the said bank branch, sources added.
