4 Boosa detainees transferred to Terrorism unit, 8 freed

Four Tamil civilians detained in Boosa detention camp in the Galle district for several months were transferred Wednesday to the Prevention of Terrorism Unit (PTU) located in Chaitiya Street in Colombo. Meanwhile, eight other Tamil civilians detained for about six to eight months in Boosa Detention Centre had been released without any charges, sources in Colombo said.

Kandasamy Vaeniyan, Velmurugan Ravindran, Thuraisingham Jeyakumar, and Mohamed Thumaran of Jaffna, were transferred to PTI human rights sources in Colombo said.

Vivekanandan Jegathkumar of Torrington Square in Colombo, Sinnathurai Nishanthan, M.Raj, Mahindan, Kandasamy Rajasekaran, Subramaniam Suthan, M.P.Rajiv and Subramaniam Thevaruban of Jaffna district, were released from Boosa camp.
