Six unidentified armed men abducted Saturday two young labourers from their house in Kuppi'laan, a village located on the border Sri Lanka Army (SLA) High Security Zone (HSZ) in Valikaamam in Jaffna peninsula, according to complaints lodged with Human Rights Commission (HRC) Jaffna office Friday by the victims relatives.
The abducted youths, Marisa Nimalraj, 27, and Rukumanantharasa, 22, are both residents of Kuppi'laan South. The abductors who had come on three motorbikes to the house had locked up the occupants in a room, and hid themselves in the premises until the two youths
returned from their daily work, the relatives said in the complaint to HRC. The abductors forcibly took away the two youths in day
light. The abduction which took place close to the SLA top security area where SLA troops are present day and night, has shocked the area residents.
