Three Sea Tigers killed - radio

Three Sea Tigers were killed in a sea battle between the LTTE and the Sri Lankan Navy which took place in the seas off the Mullaithivu coast last night, said the Voice of Tigers in its night news bulletin today.

The fighting started at 10 pm last night and continued till 4 am today according to the radio.

The radio said that the extent of the damage inflicted on the Sri Lankan Navy was not known.

Major Vengai (Rasiah Nageswary of Jaffna) Major Kaliyarasan (Muthiah Lingaraj of Kilinochchi) Major Santhakumar (Y.Jeyarasa James Paul of Puthukudiyeruppu) were the dead.

Meanwhile, another member of the Liberation Tigers, Gayathri (Manikkapodi Thevamany of Batticaloa ) was killed in a confrontation with the Sri Lankan Army (SLA) in the Mankulam area yesterday said the VoT.
