42 Tiger casualties - SLA

The Sri Lanka Army (SLA) in Batticaloa said today that more than 25 Liberation Tigers were killed or wounded in a confrontation at Marnkerni yesterday morning. The SLA says it recovered nine bodies, along with weapons.

The SLA in Jaffna said 17 Tigers were killed or wounded when troops opened fire at a group of nearly 35 LTTE cadres yesterday at Karakkankandu kulam.

In another incident in Mankulam in the Vanni also yesterday 5 Tigers were killed, said the SLA.
