Tamil family man shot dead in Vavuniyaa

Unidentified armed men shot dead 48-year-old family man Sunday evening at Checkadipulavu junction in Vavuniyaa division, 150 meters away from his residence when he was leaving home to Vavuniyaa town, sources in Vavuniyaa said.

The victim was identified as Kothandar Jeybalakulasingham, a father of five.

Jeyabalakulasingham was taken to the Vavuniyaa general hospital with serious gunshot injuries to his head.

He died while undergoing emergency operation, hospital sources said.

The body was handed over to his relatives after the inquest held into the death by Vavuniyaa District Judge Mr.A.G.Alexrajah Rajah
