EPDP councillor killed

The EPDP's Deputy chairman of the Waligamam East (Atchuvely) Pradheshiya Sabha (local government body) Mr.Nadarajah Sivarajah,60, was shot dead by unidentified gunmen this evening around 6.05 p.m. while he was on his way home.

Jaffna Sri Lankan Police sources said that Mr.Sivarajah was cycling home from the EPDP's office in Jaffna town to Kopay north when the gun men stopped between Kalviankaadu and Irupaalai at Kattappiraai and shot him twice in the head and chest, killing him on the spot.

Mr.Nadarajah works daily at the EPDP office in Jaffna town said sources.
