Norwegian Tamils urge Norway to stop Sri Lanka's genocidal war in Vanni

Nearly three hundred Norwegian Tamils, along with Norwegian Members of Parliament and political leaders, gathered in the premises of Norway Parliament Friday between 11:00 a.m till 1:30 p.m, and appealed to the Government of Norway to save the Tamils in Vanni in from the genocidal war waged on them by the Government of Sri Lanka (GoSL), This is the third such demonstration by Norwegian Tamils in this week.



Inge Lønning, Member of Parliament and the member of the Committee of Health and Care, Roger Valhammer, Secretary of youth section of Hordaland Labour Party addressed the gathering voicing the sentiments of the demonstrators.

Erling Folkvord of the Red party (Rød Valgalliance), Odd Einar Dørum, MP Oslo Leftist Party, Christoffer Torris Ohlsen from Leftist Youths, Akthar Chaudry, MP for Socialist Leftist Party (SV), Henrik Asheim from Rightist Youths and Rune Tokle, Party Secretary of Oslo Labour Party are some of the Norwegian politicians who took part in the demonstration.

The demonstrators urged Norway and the International Community to immediately act to bring about a ceasefire in Sri Lanka.
