The wife of a family man from Arasadi in Jaffna lodged a complaint with Jaffna Human Rights Commission (HRC) office Thursday that men suspected to be policemen abducted her husband, who had gone to visit his mother in Thampalakaamam in Trincomalee district, 31 January. Altogether six Jaffna peninsula residents, three in the peninsula and three out of the peninsula, had been reported missing in January, Jaffna HRC sources said.
The family man reported abducted in Thampalakaamam is Puniyamoorthy Nadesalingam, 34. No information about Nadesalingam is available though he had been abducted two weeks ago, his wife said in her complaint to HRC officials requesting them to help trace her husband.
