Tamil woman abducted in Ampaa’rai

Unidentified armed men abducted 9 March a Tamil woman, a mother of three children, in Poththuvil police division in Ampaa’rai district, according to the complaint lodged by her relatives at Poththuvil police station. No action has been taken on the complaint yet, the relatives said.

The abducted woman is Rasa Maheswaran, 36.

Meanwhile, complaints have been made to the police in the respective areas, of Karuna group paramilitary men abducting more than ten persons in Poththuvil and Thirukkoayil, in Batticaloa district, sources in Ampaa’rai said.
