EPDP Councillor killed

A member of the EPDP, Pandaari Kandasamy ,55, of the Waligamam East (Atchuvely) Pradheshiya Sabha (local government body) was shot dead by unidentified gunmen around 10.30 a.m. this morning.

He was cycling on the Puttur-Atchuvely road when he stopped by two youth near a church who inquired whether he was Mr.kandasamy and shot him dead.

His body was brought by the Sri Lankan Police to the Jaffna hospital this afternoon.

He is the seventh member of a local government body in Jaffna to be shot dead since early last year.
