Liberation Tigers put up poster at Jaffna University and fourty-two devotees attended 'Maha Sivarathri Pooja' at Keerimalai Naguleswarar temple.
Poster warns civilians off military transportA poster put up at the Jaffna University notice board, yesterday, urged the public not to travel in ships and planes arranged by the Sri Lankan Security Forces. The poster was put by the "Liberation Tigers, Jaffna District". The poster appealed to the public to use non - military travel arrangements made by international Non Governmental Organisations. The Sri Lankan Army later removed the poster.
SLA organises religious festivalA Hindu priest and 42 devotees attended a special 'Pooja' held at the Keerimalai Naguleswarar temple in view of the Hindu religious festival, 'Maha Sivarathri', said sources in Jaffna. The devotees were transported by the Sri Lankan Army from Thellipalai to the temple and brought back. Devotees said the SLA had a canteen for the devotees at Keerimalai. However the SLA served cake and fish buns at the canteen, food that they don't eat, especially on religious festivals.
