Seven LTTE Casualties - VoT

Six female members of the Liberation Tigers were killed in fresh clashes with the Sri Lankan Army (SLA) today in two separate incidents, the Tigers announced in the Vanni.
Four were killed in a clash with the SLA at Moonrumurippu in the Mankulam area, while two died in a clash at Manalaaru today. Another member died yesterday in a clash at Paranthan yesterday. The Tigers announced their names as: Arulnathy (Kunanayagam Theivam of Trincomalee)
Arulmoly (Aavudayappan Nageswary of Puliyankulam)
Puhalnilaa (Balasingam Jeyanthini of Nedunkerni)
Elitchelvi (Sivalingam Jeyaletchumi of Vavuniya)
Thushani (Subramaniam Puvaneswary of Batticaloa)
Lathathevi (Gopalapillai Kathanayagi of Batticaloa)
Amal (Rajagopal Jeyakumar of Jaffna). However, a press release issued by the Ministry of Defence said 8 Tigers, including 6 female members, were killed when the troops ambushed a group of Tigers, south of Vannivilankulam, at 4.15 a.m. today. Meanwhile, sources in the Vanni said that the SLA stationed at Mankulam had fired artillery shells towards the west, from 3 a.m to 6.30 a.m. today.
