The fast unto death protest by Parameswaran Subramnaiyam observed to draw the attention of the International Community to the ongoing catastrophe in Sri Lanka, reached its 18th day Friday as the diaspora Tamils in Britain continue their protest demonstration in the Parliament Square in London for the 19th day, sources in London said. Many people from various nationalities visit and express their support and sympathy for the cause for which the Tamils are demonstrating, the sources added.
“I will continue to support you until your struggle wins,” one of the foreigners who keep visiting Parameswaran said in a gesture of solidarity. The persons who visit Parameswaran consider his fast unto death as an act of noble sacrifice to alleviate the sufferings of the Tamils in Vanni being killed, maimed and injured in the relentless, inhuman war waged against them by the government of Sri Lanka, the sources added. The International Committee against the Disappearance of Tamils is to launch a protest demonstration 25 Saturday April from 11:00 a.m to 12:00 noon in Trafalgar Square in London demanding justice for the Tamils who have gone missing in Sri Lanka. Disaspora Tamils in their thousands are expected to join in the above demonstration.
