Sinhala thugs destroy Tamil shops in Badulla

Sinhala thugs broke open three shops owned by Tamils in Palakaduwa, a suburb in Badulla police division, and robbed the premises of valueables Wednesday night. The intruders attempted to break open two other shops but failed in their attempt and fled when neighbors rushed to the site, media reports said. Tension prevails among Tamil business community in Badulla town about their future.
Since the government declared victory day after the defeat of LTTE in Vanni region, Sinhala thugs are on the rampage in Palakaduwa, attacking Tamil residents and damaging their properties. Now these thugs are determined to stop Tamils doing business in the area by destroying their shops, reports added. Tamil residents have appealed to the police to establish a police station immediately in Palakaduwa to maintain law and order, and to ensure saftey of minority Tamils in the area.
