Six arrested in Jaffna

Six civilians have been arrested by the Sri Lankan Army during the past four days from Vadamaradchi east and Thenmaradchi in the Jaffna peninsula said human rights sources there.
The Sri Lankan Army (SLA) arrested a 53 year old man, Vanniasingham Karthikesu, last night around 10.45. from his house in Amban, Vadamaradchi East. His wife and son were also interrogated by the army. Vanniasingham is currently detained at the Naakar Kovil camp said sources. Meanwhile on Sunday, February 28, the SLA arrested Rasenthiram Raseekaran, 21, Thiruchelvam Nimal, 21, and T.Ponrasa, 24, from Thambaakaamam in Thenmaradchi. They are being held at the Kathaappu camp. Elasewhere in Jaffna the SLA arrested Nagarasa Sudarshan,20, and Kandasamy Sudhaharan,17, on Saturday, February 27, at Inuvil and Kachchai south respectively. Kandasamy Sudhaharan is being held at the Kodikamam SLA camp.
