Colombo bomb kills three

Three persons were killed and 15 others were wounded when a bomb exploded between Police Station and Seylan bank, in Mt.Lavinia, a suburb in the capital Colombo around 6 p.m. today said police sources.

The explosion was set off by a female suicide bomber who had targeted Nilabdeen a senior Sri Lankan Police investigator said sources in Colombo. Police sources said that there was a male accomplice as well with the suicide bomber who was also killed in the explosion. The officer Nilabdeen, according to Police sources was seriously injured by the blast this evening. The wounded have been taken to National Hospital in Colombo and Kalubowila hospital.
