Three wounded in Jaffna blast

Three Sri Lankan Army (SLA) soldiers were wounded when a bomb exploded at a sentry post at Milavu Junction, about 300 metres from the main bus terminal in the heart of the Jaffna town, around 9.30 a.m. today.

SLA sources in Jaffna said the devise had been planted on the first floor of a building, below the sentry post, which was on the second floor.

Sources in Jaffna said shops have been closed down in the town after the explosion.

The SLA has cordoned off the area and conducting a search operation.
